Parole supervision

The State Parole Authority (SPA) makes parole orders but the supervision of all offenders on parole is the responsibility of CSNSW Community Corrections officers. These skilled officers supervise and support parolees as they reintegrate into the community until their total sentences expires.

Supervising parolees and ensuring they follow all the conditions of parole reduces the likelihood of reoffending. For the community it provides a far safer and more effective measure then suddenly releasing an inmate when their sentence expires, returning them to society without supervision, monitoring or assistance.

Parole is not a reward or early release of an inmate but serves as a bridge between custody and liberty in the community. 

As a parolee, you must obey all the directions of your Community Corrections officer and abide by all the conditions listed on your parole order. If you fail to do so, a breach report may be sent to the SPA which may issue an order to revoke parole and return you to custody.
