Intensive Correction Orders

An ICO is a sentence no longer than two years which is served in the community under the strict supervision of Community Corrections officers.

Courts can sentence offenders to an ICO providing Community Corrections assesses them as suitable
ICOs have mandatory Standard Conditions and at least one Additional Condition imposed at sentencing
If an ICO is revoked, offenders are sent to prison and cannot apply for bail
Offenders cannot apply to have an ICO reinstated until they have served 4 weeks in prison
Offenders can travel overseas with permission but not for holidays and recreational reasons
The Authority can revoke ICOs for offenders who breach their conditions and send them to prison
